چکیده

We present an approach for building highly-dependable systems that derive their assurance from a formally-verified operatingsystem which guarantees isolation between subsystems. We leverage those guarantees to enforce security through non-bypassable architectural constraints, and through generation of code and proofs from the architecture. We show that this approach can produce a system that is highly robust against cyber attacks, even without formal proof of its overall security. We demonstrate not only that this approach is applicable to real-world systems, such as autonomous vehicles, but also that it is possible to re-engineer an existing insecure system to achieve high robustness, and that this can be done by engineers not trained in formal methods.

Transforming Fuzzy State Diagram to Fuzzy Petri net

UML is known as one of the most common methods in software engineering. Since this language is semi-formal, many researches and efforts have been performed to transform this language into formal methods including Petri nets. Thus, the operation of verification and validation of the qualitative and nonfunctional parameters could be achieved with more ability. Since the majority of the real world...

A Formally Verified WCET Estimation Tool

The application of formal methods in the development of safety-critical embedded software is recommended in order to provide strong guarantees about the absence of software errors. In this context, WCET estimation tools constitute an important element to be formally verified. We present a formally verified WCET estimation tool, integrated to the formally verified CompCert C compiler. Our tool c...

Safety Property Verification of ESTEREL Programs and Applications to Telecommunications Software

We present a technique for automatically verifying linear-time temporal logic safety properties of programs written in ESTEREL, a formally-defined language for programming reactive systems. In our approach, linear-time temporal logic safety properties are first translated into ESTEREL programs that model these properties. Using the ESTEREL compiler, the translations are compiled in parallel wit...

A Csp-based Trajectory for Designing Formally Verified Embedded Control Software*)

This paper presents in a nutshell a procedure for producing formally verified concurrent software. The design paradigm provides means for translating block-diagrammed models of systems from various problem domains in a graphical notation for process-oriented architectures. Briefly presented CASE tool allows code generation both for formal analysis of the models of software and code generation i...
